About This Project
In the era when general situation with human rights is constantly improving, in many European countries the human rights issue remains one of the most important social problems. We could even say that all the European world faces this problem in one or another field.
We think that one of the barriers on the way of human rights is that many people do not know their legal rights. And if they know they are often unaware of how their rights can be protected. Insufficient general legal education is often one of the main causes of such ignorance.
Because the human rights law is a rather new branch of law, many lawyers have not received special human rights legal education.
The scope of creation of this Human Rights Guide is to help to fill this gap in knowledge.
The Human Right Guide is going to become a unique Internet resource that will have the following characteristics:
1. The site will be dedicated to legal analysis of the European Convention on Human Rights and Case-Law of the European Court of Human Rights.
2. The potential users will include 3 categories:
- General public (non-lawyers)
- Lawyers in general
- Human rights lawyers
3. The site will be easy to use. Clear language, diagrams, tables and examples will be used thoroughly.
Browsing and navigation will be done in a convenient way. Advanced search tools will help to quickly find needed information.
4. The site is going to be updated on a regular basis. Every change in the legislation and important changes in the case-law will cause quick updates of the site.
5. The site will be in all European languages.
Leading specialists on the human rights law from different countries will participate in the process of creation of this site.
